Homemade gifts for nursing home patients? - what gift to bring for patients of stroke

I love volunteering at the local clinic, but I'm only 16 years, I can not have much to do except visit with patients. Mag (I do) some of them to read, but others are talking like that, and I needed to bring them all a little gift this weekend. Does anyone have any ideas for gifts for them?
